People Counters
Dato 10. February 2025To improve the management of the UNESCO World Heritage area in Ilulissat, we have now installed four people counters to monitor visitors’ movement patterns. These counters are strategically placed at:

Introduction of Site Fee
Dato 10. February 2025Starting in June 2025, Avannaata Municipality will introduce a fee of 10 euros per visitor for access to the land area between Ilulissat town and the Icefjord, including the trail system with the yellow, red, and blue routes.

Audio Guide
Dato 5. December 2023The Ilulissat UNESCO Audio Guide is now available. You can listen to a variety of information on the cultural history and natural surroundings of this unique area.

Popular hiking trails has been upgraded
Dato 20. September 2013Ilulissat Icefjord Office has finished the improvement of the ten kilomenters of hiking trails situated in the World Heritage Area Ilulissat Icefjord. The three trails red, blue and yellow have had their markings repainted and cairns rebuild.
