WELCOME TO ILULISSAT ICEFJORD


Ilulissat Icefjord is designated as a protected area of outstanding beauty. Since 2004 it has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. This is the official website of Ilulissat Icefjord. It will be updated continually with news and relevant information.

    To improve the management of the UNESCO World Heritage area in Ilulissat, we have now installed four people counters to monitor visitors’ movement patterns. These counters are strategically placed at:

    Starting in June 2025, Avannaata Municipality will introduce a fee of 10 euros per visitor for access to the land area between Ilulissat town and the Icefjord, including the trail system with the yellow, red, and blue routes.
